Report: Da Costa has options in KHL and NHL

According to a report by, former Merrimack forward Stephane Da Costa has potential options on the table for a return to the NHL or KHL.

Da Costa was reportedly close to a deal with the Montreal Canadiens this past summer, but an injury required surgery late in the offseason, which brought negotiations to a stop.

“I feel great in Geneva, I like it here but I cannot say anything about where to continue my career,” Da Costa told a Russian news agency, TASS. “There are options both in the National Hockey League and in the KHL. At the end of the season you will know everything.”

Da Costa signed with Geneve Servette HC in the fall after recovering from surgery. Da Costa has played in 23 games this season, scoring 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists).
