Chicago Steel defenseman John Spetz will re-open his recruitment, according to USHL sources. Spetz, who was slated to arrive next season, had an issue come up during the admissions process at Merrimack.

Spetz is a former teammate of current Merrimack freshman Jordan Seyfert. A New Jersey native, Spetz had 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) in 54 games last season as a USHL rookie for the Chicago Steel. So far this season, Spetz has three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in six games.
