Mike Vecchione, who is considered one of the better recruits in his class, has decommitted to UNH, according to sources.
Vecchione graduated from Malden Catholic last season, where he won a state championship, and has posted nine points in 17 games with Tri-City (USHL) this season. Last season, he played on a line with Boston College recruit Ryan Fitzgerald and Boston University Brendan Collier as he put up a record 70 points (26-44–70) in just 20 games, winning co-MVP honors of the Catholic Conference.
According to sources, Vecchione was asked to play another year of junior hockey. Denver has been rumored as a potential destination for the 18-year-old forward.
