Warriors fall to No. 5 in both polls

Following a weekend sweep at the hands of Providence College, Merrimack College dropped to No. 5 in both national polls on Monday as Minnesota-Duluth, the defending national champions, climbed to the top as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country.

The Warriors are now the second ranked Hockey East team in the polls, slipping behind Boston College, who split a home-and-home series with Boston University.

Notre Dame fell to No. 7 after getting swept by Northeastern in two games at South Bend.

Providence’s sweep of the Warriors earned them entrance into the USCHO poll at No. 20.
