NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Freshman Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) tallied a double-double with 30 assists and 14 digs to lead the Merimack College women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Post University on Friday night. The Warriors took the contest by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.

How It Happened
The Warriors led from the start to finish in the opening stanza. Merrimack scored five of the first eight points to take control early and led by as many as two points at 14-12. Post tied the game at 14-14 but still came up short.
Game two was more of the same. Post took an early 8-6 lead before the Warriors went on a 5-0 run and never looked back. Post closed to four at 22-18, but the Navy and Gold used a 3-0 run the rest of the way to secure the win.
The final game was a closer affair. Post took another early lead, but Merrimack went on 5-0 run to secure a 19-12 lead over the Eagles. The Navy and Gold held their lead and took the final set and match.
Junior Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y.) led the offense with 16 kills and a .351 kill percentage. Sheehan also contributed four blocks on the night. Junior Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) added 17 digs to her career.
A Closer Look
Senior Jackie Jones (Amherst, N.H.) contributed seven kills.
Freshman Jennifer Cain (Melrose, Mass.) posted 12 kills.
Merrimack posted five total team blocks.
The Warriors finished with a .266 attack percentage.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Sept. 21, when they host the Golden Lions from Dowling College. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
