Women’s Golf Completes First Round at SHU Fall Classic

MILFORD, Conn. – The Merrimack College women’s golf team completed its first round at the SHU Fall Classic on Sunday. The Warriors currently sit in fourth position out of a total of seven Division I teams, including two Northeast Conference (NEC) opponents, Sacred Heart and LIU Brooklyn. The Warriors will continue the second round today starting at 10 a.m.

How It Happened

  • The Warriors are off to a strong start as they posted a first round total of 322 as a team, putting them in front of Hofstra, LIU Brooklyn, and Fairfield
  • Sophomore Janelle Bryant is off to a terrific start, scoring a first-round 79, putting her in a tie for ninth in the tournament after one round. This is Bryant’s best score of the year so far as she looks to continue her strong start on Monday.
  • Right behind her are teammates freshman Jacquelyn Stiles with a score of 80, sophomore Jordan LaPlume with an 81, and graduate student Nina Harrington with an 82
  • Freshman Alexandra Tomasso rounds out the Merrimack five with a score of 87 as Merrimack heads into Monday very much still in the mix.
