Women’s Golf Places 13th at the Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. – The Merrimack College women’s golf team traveled to Hanover Country Club this weekend and placed 13th at the Dartmouth Invitational. Merrimack enjoyed a great day on Sunday, improving their team score by 24 strokes compared to its performance during Saturday’s First Round. The Warriors posted the largest improvement from the first round to the second among all entries in the field.

Sophomore Jordan Laplume was the best finisher for the Warriors, totaling a final score of 158, which was tied for 45th overall. Freshman Alexandra Tomasso finished second among the Warriors, shooting a 168 over the two rounds.

How It Happened

  • Merrimack’s Second Round performance exceeded its performance during Saturday’s First Round, which saw the Warriors shoot a 321 as a unit. The 24-stroke improvement on their First Round score was the largest disparity in the Invitational
  • Freshman Justine Cook had a great Sunday round, improving her score by 16 strokes, leading the charge back from Merrimack. Tomasso also postedn a quality round, improving her score by seven strokes.
  • Outside of the team effort, sophomore Janelle Bryant competed as an individual, scoring a 192 over the two rounds
  • Graduate Student Nina Harrington finished third among the Merrimack golfers, shooting a 172 through the Invitational.
