Women’s Golf Places Fifth at SHU Fall Classic

 

MILFORD, Conn. – The Merrimack College women’s golf team finished its performance at the SHU Fall Classic on Monday. The Warriors placed fifth out of seven Division I teams, finishing better than NEC opponent LIU Brooklyn and Fairfield in the tournament. The result marked the program’s best finish to date – closing on its fall campaign on a high note.

How It Happened

  • As a team, the Warriors posted a final score of 656 and a final round score of 334 after shooting a 322 on Sunday
  • Sophomore Jordan LaPlume was the best finisher for Merrimack, scoring a 161 for the tournament to claim a top-10 finish in the field
  • Freshman Alexandra Tomasso improved her score by three strokes in the second round, leading the team in shot differential
  • Graduate Student Nina Harrington, Freshman Jacquelyne Stiles and Sophomore Janelle Bryant round out the team effort scoring totals of 165, 167, and 183 respectively
