NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.— Senior forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis was named to the 2019-20 New England Hockey Writers Association Women’s Division I All-Star on Tuesday.
Grant-Mentis was already named as a member of the 2019-20 Hockey East Second Team earlier in March. The Brampton, Ontario native led the team in goals this season with 20 which was tied for second best in Hockey East and top ten nationally.
She totaled 33 points on the year, which was second most for her career as a Warrior and the most goals in a single season in her time in the blue and gold. She was Hockey East Player of the Month in November for an 11-game point scoring streak during the month, where she tallied 14 goals and 22 points for the second-most of any player in the nation during that time.
Other players named All-Stars included Northeastern goaltender Aerin Frankel, Boston University goaltender Corinne Schroeder, Boston College defender Cayla Barnes, Boston University defender Abby Cook, Providence defender Whitney Dove, Northeastern forward Skylar Fontaine, Northeastern forward Chloe Aurard, Boston College forward Hannah Bilka, Boston University forward Sammy Davis, Northeastern forward Alina Mueller and Harvard forward Kristin Della Rovere.
Grant-Mentis ended her four years with Merrimack with 56 goals, 61 assists for 117 points in 137 games—holding the program record for points and assists, and is second all-time in goals. She has gone on to sign a professional contract with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women’s Hockey League, where she already has three points in two games.
