The Merrimack College women’s ice hockey program announced the remainder of their 2019-20 schedule on Wednesday, including the contests away from campus for the Warriors in the upcoming year.

Merrimack will have 34 games on the docket including its season-opening exhibition on Saturday, Sept. 21, against the Boston Pride of the National Women’s Hockey League. The Warriors will open the season with five straight games at Lawler Rink before their first road contest of the year.

The program only has two road games through the months of September and October, visiting Boston University (Oct. 11) and Boston College (Oct. 18) on consecutive Fridays in Hockey East play. Merrimack’s first long trip of the season occurs during the first weekend of November, when the Warriors visit Minnesota State-Mankato. Road games against Holy Cross (Nov. 14) and Providence College (Nov. 23) complete the remaining trips for the month of November. The last game of the first half of the season sees Merrimack face the University of New Hampshire up in Durham, N.H.

Fourteen of Merrimack’s 21 games in calendar year 2019 will come at Lawler Rink. The new year sees Merrimack face Quinnipiac for two games (Jan. 3-4). The next four contests on Merrimack’s docket will be away from campus; the Warriors face Vermont (Jan. 11), Maine (Jan. 17-18) and Boston University (Jan. 24) during that stretch. The Warriors also close January with a tilt at Providence.

Three of Merrimack’s final four games will also require traveling. The Warriors face UConn for back-to-back contests in Hartford, Conn. (Feb. 14-15) before their final regular season game at Northeastern (Jan. 22).

The program will be making its bid for another appearance in the Women’s Hockey East Championship following a program-best fifth-place finish one year ago. The conference tournament will begin with the quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 28. The semifinals (March 7) and championship (March 8) will occur the following weekend.
