After spending the past year-and-a-half on the recruiting trails across the country, head coach Erin Hamlen is pleased to announce the Merrimack College women’s ice hockey team’s first-ever recruiting class, as the first four Warriors in program history have signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) and are on campus for 2014-15.
Three forwards and one goaltender comprise the first four players on the official team roster, including a transfer from WCHA power Minnesota Duluth, and the quartet of Warriors will spend the upcoming year practicing and training with the coaching staff, as Hamlen and assistant coachBrent Hill continue to piece together the program’s squad for their inaugural 2015-16 campaign.
“We are excited to bring the first wave of Women’s Ice Hockey student-athletes onto the Merrimack College campus this fall,” Hamlen mentioned. “In the year prior to our inaugural season, we are fortunate to be able to bring four student-athletes to campus to redshirt and train with our staff. These student-athletes are quality players, but more importantly, quality people. Our staff expects this small group to lead a young squad into competition in the fall of 2015.”
