Ireland To Represent Women’s Soccer in NEWISA Senior Bowl

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack women’s soccer defender Jackie Ireland was selected to play in the NEWISA Senior Bowl by the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association  for her contributions to the Warriors.

Ireland, an Easton, Mass. native, was a starter in all 18 matches for the Warriors this season as a cornerstone of the defense. She scored her only point of the season with an assist in an overtime game against Saint Francis on October 25. Ireland has played in every match in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons with the Warriors. She has excelled as a student as well, earning a 3.8 GPA as a communications major.

The Warriors will host the NEWISA Senior Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Martone-Mejail Field. Ireland will join competitors from: Yale, Central Connecticut State, Holy Cross, New Hampshire, Providence College, Vermont, Boston College, Brown, UCONN, Central Connecticut State, University of Hartford, and the University of Rhode Island.

Merrimack women’s soccer competed in its first Division I season, earning three wins and a draw as members of the Northeast Conference.
