Merrimack’s Boucher, Carter, and Rego Selected to NEWISA Senior Bowl

Seniors Sarah Boucher (Northbridge, Mass.)Victoria Carter (Smithfield, R.I.), and Andrea Rego (Dartmouth, Mass.) of the Merrimack College women’s soccer team have been selected to play in the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl that will be hosted by Merrimack College.

The Senior Bowl will feature seniors from schools throughout New England representing all three NCAA Divisions. Division II saw 19 athletes being selected for the game, with 18 of those seniors coming from the Northeast 10 Conference.

Boucher, one of three captains, was a big contributor on the field during her career at Merrimack, playing in all the games, while starting all 19 this year. During her senior year, she led the offense with 13 points (3g, 7a). Her seven assists were a career-high in a single season. She capped off her senior season by being named to the NE10 All-Conference Third-Team. Boucher was also named to the NEWISA All-New England Team as a junior and NE10 All-Rookie team.

Carter appeared in all 19 games during her final season, starting in 11 of them. She finished her career with 16 goals and 15 assists. This year, she scored three goals, including a game-winner against Molloy on September 3rd. She was named to the NEWISA All-New England Team as a junior.

Rego, who was also a captain this year, started all 19 games during her final campaign. She posted three points with a goal and an assist. Her one tally came against Southern New Hampshire on October 3rd, with her lone assist coming against Stonehill two games later on October 11th. She wraps up her career with eight goals and eight assists.

All three seniors will participate in the NEWISA Senior Bowl with the region’s top seniors at Martone-Mejail Field on Saturday, December 2. Kick off for the game is set for 2 p.m.
