Senior Jenna Savi (Dedham, Mass.) of the Merrimack College women’s soccer team will play in the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior Bowl that will be hosted by Merrimack College on Saturday, December 5 at noon.
The Senior Bowl will feature seniors from schools throughout New England representing all three NCAA Divisions. Division II saw 21 athletes be selected for the game, with all of those seniors coming from the Northeast-10 Conference.
Savi put together a fantastic senior campaign to finish off a great career at Merrimack. She became just the eighth player in the history of the program, and 13th time it has been done, to score 10 or more goals and add 10 or more assists in a single season, as she finished with 10 goals and 13 assists on the year. The last time a Warrior accomplished the 10-and-10 feat was 2001. She also netted three game-winners this season, including a penalty-kick goal in overtime in the Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinals, and added her first-career hat trick in the final game of her career.
The Dedham, Massachusetts native’s 10 goals and 13 assists for 33 points were all career-highs for the senior. Her assist and point totals were both the most in the NE-10 this year, while she was tied for third in the conference in goals. Her 13 assists on the season also ranked fifth in the nation.
