Pregame: Merrimack at Northeastern

BOSTON — The Merrimack men’s hockey team is at Northeastern’s Matthews Arena for tonight’s 6 p.m. puck drop against the No. 17/14-ranked Northeastern Huskies.

Troy Kobryn will get the nod in goal for the Warriors. He’s making his first start of the season after missing last weekend’s games against UMass. Kobryn appeared in 19 games last season, posting a 3.30 GAA and an .893 save percentage. In games he started, the Warriors went 4-9-1.

Aside from Kobryn, there aren’t many changes to Merrimack’s lines. Jakob Lee will make his collegiate debut as Merrimack’s extra forward.

Northeastern will counter with Connor Murphy in goal. Murphy is a 6-foot-4 netminder from New York who appeared in two games last season. He played his junior hockey in the CCHL with Carleton Place two seasons ago, posting a 2.07 GAA and .917 save percentage in 47 appearances.

Tonight’s game will be officiated by Eugene Binda and Geoffrey Miller with Nicholas Briganti and Kevin Briganti working the lines. The game will be televised regionally and nationally (where applicable) on NESN and will stream on in the U.S. and internationally.
