2026 guard Ayden Johnson commits to Merrimack
The Merrimack men’s basketball team got an early start on the 2026 recruiting class after they received a commitment from guard Ayden Johnson.
Johnson is from North Carolina and attends Caldwell Academy. This season, he averaged 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, and he shot 40 percent from 3-point range.
This summer, he’ll play AAU for Team CP3, which is owned by Chris Paul, in the EYCL. Through 15 games, he has averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 assists.
According to Made Hoops, Johnson had offers from Merrimack and Radford; Columbia made him an offer just before he committed to the Warriors. Other schools that showed interest included Presbyterian, Queens, and UNC Greensboro.
