Former defenseman Rob LaLonde became the oldest active alumni this season when he suited up for Team Puerto Rico at the Latam Cup. LaLonde owns Buttendz, a company that makes grips for hockey and lacrosse sticks. LaLonde and I were at Merrimack at the same time … we both graduated in 2006 and then he went on to play professionally for a few years in the AHL and ECHL before founding Buttendz.

LaLonde played professionally from 2006-10, including four seasons with the Reading Royals (ECHL) with multiple AHL call-ups over the course of those seasons.
