Alumni Report: Babcock Named AHL Assistant with San Diego
Former Merrimack forward Michael Babcock has been named an assistant coach with the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks.
Babcock, 30, played one season of pro hockey in France after graduating from Merrimack in 2019. He began his coaching career with the University of Saskatchewan in USports under his father, former NHL head coach Mike Babcock, during the 2021-22 season.
He remained with Saskatchewan in 2022-23 while also working with the Ottawa Senators as a development coach and intern. During that time, he earned his MBA from the University of Saskatchewan.
For the past two seasons, Babcock has served as a skills coach with the St. Louis Blues.
