Borek finalist for Hockey East Coach of the Year
Merrimack men’s hockey coach Scott Borek is a finalist for the Hockey East Coach of the Year award along with Norm Bazin (UMass Lowell) and Jerry Keefe (Northeastern).
Merrimack was picked to finish ninth in the Hockey East preseason poll, and the Warriors finished the season in a tie for fourth place, which matched the best finish by any team in the history of the Merrimack program. This year’s team also has the second-most wins (19) of any Merrimack team in the modern era and it will only be the third team in the program’s 32 years in Hockey East that posted a winning record.
