Merrimack officially announced its 2026-27 men’s hockey schedule Tuesday. Tickets are now on sale through the Merrimack ticket office.

The season begins with an exhibition game Oct. 2, just three weeks from Friday. The regular season opens the following night, Oct. 3, at Quinnipiac.

Merrimack will raise its Hockey East championship banner Thursday, Oct. 8, against New Hampshire.

Here’s a full breakdown of the schedule, month by month:

October

2 (Fri) at Sacred Heart (ex)
3 (Sat) at Quinnipiac
8 (Thu) vs. New Hampshire (home opener)
16 (Fri) vs. Minnesota State
17 (Sat) vs. Minnesota State
23 (Fri) at Notre Dame
24 (Sat) at Notre Dame
30 (Fri) vs. Connecticut
31 (Sat) vs. Connecticut

The Warriors don’t ease into the season, opening Oct. 3 on the road against Quinnipiac.

I’m in the middle of my preseason rankings, and I currently have the Bobcats ranked No. 2 nationally, behind only Michigan. Quinnipiac went 27-10-3 last season and returns the bulk of that roster. Its top three scorers were all freshmen.

The goaltending situation will look a little different. Lake Superior State transfer Rorke Applebee is the projected starter. He flew somewhat under the radar last season with the Lakers, and I actually think he may be better than the two goaltenders Quinnipiac lost.
