Boston University will be without its top-line center for tonight’s Hockey East championship game.

Wilmer Skoog, who had been centering BU’s top line between Jay O’Brien and Matt Brown, has been suspended for tonight’s game following a boarding penalty he was assessed in the third period of last night’s semifinal game against Providence.

The hit occurred at 8:40 of the third period. Providence defenseman Cam McDonald was injured on the play, and it was revealed after the game that he suffered a broken hand. Skoog was assessed a boarding minor.

Skoog is tied for second on BU with 14 goals this season (14 goals, 15 assists), second with 107 shots, and sixth with 29 points.
