By the Numbers: Merrimack begins home-and-home at Providence
Merrimack travels to Providence tonight to begin a critical home-and-home series with the Friars at Schneider Arena.
The Warriors enter the weekend as the No. 8 seed in Hockey East. They lead Northeastern by five points for the final home-ice spot in the first round of the Hockey East playoffs. Three teams are tied for fifth (UMass, UMass Lowell, and Providence), and the Warriors are only two points behind them.
Only three points separate UConn in 4th, and Merrimack in 8th.
The Warriors are 8-5 in their last 13 meetings with Providence dating back to 2020. That includes a 4-3 mark at Schneider Arena.
The Warriors are 40-94-12 all-time against Providence in a series that dates back to 1960.
