Carlile, Newton named HEA All Stars

Merrimack defenseman Declan Carlile and senior center Max Newton were both named to Hockey East All Star teams on Friday. Carlile was named to the league's second-team all-star list, while Newton was named an honorable mention. 

Carlile is in the midst of a dominant season from the backend. Carlile leads all Warrior defensemen with 24 points on the strength of seven goals and 17 assists this winter. He also leads the team with a +18 rating and his 83 blocked shots tops Hockey East and ranks him in a tie for fifth in the NCAA. In his Merrimack career, he has tallied 56 points on 13 goals and 43 assists in 82 appearances.
