Central Connecticut hands Merrimack first NEC loss of the season
Allan Jeanne-Rose scored 24 points as Central Connecticut beat Merrimack 75-70 on Monday night.
Jeanne-Rose added eight rebounds for the Blue Devils (9-7, 3-0 Northeast Conference), who remained unbeaten in NEC play. Jayden Brown scored 15 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line. Kellen Amos had 12 points and shot 4 for 9 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 2 of 3 from the free throw line.
Jordan Derkack led the way for the Warriors (9-9, 3-1) with 16 points. Adam Clark added 15 points and eight assists for Merrimack. Bryan Etumnu also recorded 13 points and three blocks.
The Warriors suffered their first NEC loss of the season.
NOTES: Clark and Samba Diallo led the Warriors with five rebounds. … The Warriors outscored Central 27-17 down the stretch in the second half after falling behind by 15 points. … Central shot 14 for 15 from the free-throw line.
