Clark's 29 points leads Merrimack past Stonehill
Budd Clark was the star on Thursday night.
The freshman scored the last four points of the game and finished with 29 points in Merrimack's 66-63 victory against Stonehill. Clark also stripped the ball from a Skyhawk on a drive that would have given the Skyhawks a lead in the final 18 seconds.
Clark's jumper with nine seconds left gave Merrimack a 64-63 lead. He added two free throws to seal it after he was fouled with three seconds left.
Clark also had six assists for the Warriors (16-10, 10-2 NEC), who have won seven straight. Bryan Etumnu added nine points, seven rebounds and five blocks. Samba Diallo finished with eight points.
With Central Connecticut’s loss to Le Moyne, the Warriors are alone in first place in the NEC with four games left in the regular season.
The Warriors are back home on Satuday to take on Long Island.
