Collin Delia back in the NHL
The Vancouver Canucks called up Collin Delia on Friday. The move comes after goaltender Thatcher Demko was hurt on Thursday night.
No update was available on Demko as of this writing.
“I think he sees the doctor at quarter-to-five today, so should know more tomorrow,” said Vancouver coach Bruce Boudreau.
“My concern is just the way he came off the ice, just like everybody else who is watching. It didn’t look good, but I mean, sometimes you get lucky and it’s really sore for a day and then, you know, you’re out a week and then you’re back at it. So that’s what the hope is.”
Delia, 28, signed the Canucks this past summer after spending his entire pro career with the Chicago Blackhawks. He’s played in eight games so far this season for Abbotsford (AHL), going 5-3 with an .884 save percentage.
