After 15 years, the times, they are a-changin’.
We’ve moved our website from Wordpress to SubStack, which is a subscriber-based platform. You’ll notice some changes in the coming days. Wordpress had been giving us issues (as some of you are aware) and login credentials were not working for some folks who had subscribed to the site’s VIP features. Their support was lackluster, therefore, it was time to make a change.
However, there are more things changing. We’re going back to our roots. Our site started with dedicated coverage of the Merrimack men’s hockey program, and moving forward, that will be our main focus. This will allow us to give you BETTER hockey coverage. Not to brag, but there won’t be a better place for coverage of Merrimack men’s hockey. The ability to just focus on our one primary program will undoubtedly make our coverage better. We’re a one-man shop, and I was spreading myself too thin.
Also, moving forward, the entire site will be for subscribers. There is a free tier, which means you’ll receive some content, but almost all of our content will be for our subscribers. Media across the world has already moved to this model. Ultimately, for our site to be sustainable, it needs to move to this model.
There are many great features on Substack. One of my favorite features about this platform is that all of our new posts will be delivered straight to your inbox if you subscribe. You can come to the site if you want to view archives or if you would rather read our posts on a webpage, but you’ll also get the FULL content of everything we publish sent right to your email.
Thank you again for your support. I wouldn’t be able to (independently) continue covering the program if it wasn’t for your support.
Thank you to those who have already supported us with a subscription, and if you’re thinking about joining, I look forward to interacting with you as we provide the best coverage of Merrimack hockey around.
