Doneghey promoted by Chicago Blackhawks
Former Merrimack coach and goaltender, Mike Doneghey, has been promoted by the Chicago Blackhawks to Director of Player Personnel.
Doneghey has been with the Blackhawks since 2009 and was previously the team’s head U.S. scout. and director of player evaluation and recruitment.
Doneghey played at Merrimack from 1989-93 as a goaltender. He served as an assistant coach under Chris Serino from 1999-05 before taking over as the head coach and GM of the Bridgewater Bandits in the Eastern Junior Hockey League.
As part of the Blackhawks’ Hockey Strategy and Analytics division, Doneghey will continue to work with his former coach at Merrimack, Ron Anderson, who is a senior advisor within that department.
