Former Merrimack tight end Pat Conroy signs with the Las Vegas Raiders
Former Merrimack tight end Pat Conroy signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday following the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.
Conroy spent four years at Merrimack (2019-23) before he transferred to Old Dominion for his fifth season of eligibility this past fall. In 2022, Conroy appeared in 10 games for Merrimack and had 233 receiving yards and six touchdowns playing primarily as a blocking tight end.
This past fall, he was named Third-Team All-Sun Belt Conference and appeared in all 12 games at tight end for ODU. He caught 37 passes for 523 yards and led the team with five touchdowns. He was also the only tight end in the nation with two receptions of 75 yards or more.
Several different NFL scouting reports and mock drafts mentioned Conroy as a potential full back/H-back in the NFL.
Conroy became the second player with Merrimack ties to sign an NFL deal this weekend, following Cole Birdow’s signing with the New England Patriots on Saturday.
