Gallo, Minor earn NABC Awards
Merrimack coach Joe Gallo was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 15 Coach of the Year, while Jordan Minor was named to the NABC District 15 Team and the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) District I Team.
Gallo was also awarded the Coach of the Year award after the 2019-20 season.
Gallo, a Merrimack graduate, led the Warriors to their second Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season title and the program’s first NEC tournament championship this season. Merrimack finished the season with 18 wins, including 12 in conference play. The Warriors ended the year on an 11-game winning streak.
Minor is joined by players from Providence, UConn, Harvard, Boston College, Brown, and Vermont on the USBWA team. This is the first time Minor has been named to the list. The 2022-23 season marks the first time Minor has been named to the NABC first team. Last year, Minor was honored on the second team for his play during the 2021-22 season.
Minor was previously named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
