Gallo signs long-term extension with Merrimack
Merrimack men’s basketball coach Joe Gallo has signed a long-term extension to remain with the Warriors. Stadium’s Jeff Goodman was the first to report the news, and TMR has independently confirmed his report.
Gallo was a finalist for the head coaching job at Holy Cross. In addition, Gallo was also pursued by NJIT, according to Hoop Dirt.
Gallo last signed a four-year extension in November 2020.
Moments after Goodman reported about Gallo’s extension, Holy Cross announced that it had hired Fordham assistant coach Dave Paulsen to become its new head coach.
Gallo guided Merrimack to the NEC Championship this past season. The Warriors also finished first in the NEC for the second time in four seasons.
