Game #1 Lineup: Merrimack at St. Lawrence
CANTON, N.Y. — The Merrimack men’s hockey team will open the 2022-23 season tonight at Appleton Arena. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
A number of players will be making their Merrimack debuts in this game. Highly-touted defenseman Zach Bookman is the only freshman in the lineup although freshman goaltender Steven Bacovsky will dress behind Hugo Ollas and Zachary Borgiel. Transfers Tristan Crozier (Brown), Otto Leppanen (RPI), Ryan Leibold (Holy Cross), Will Calverley (RIT), and Slava Demin (Denver/UMass) will all be playing their first game as members of the Merrimack program.
Closer to the puck drop, my Live Blog will post exclusively for subscribers. My live blog isn’t so much play-by-play (I’m assuming you’re either at, or watching, the games) but it’s a live look at my game notes throughout the night and works as a nice companion piece while you’re watching the game online or sitting inside the arena on your phone.
