Goal confirmed. Game over. Lowell wins 3-2 in OT.

Merrimack will challenge - might as well - but I don't see this being overturned.

5:45 to play still 2-2. Merrimack doing a better job since tying the score. PP hasn't looked good in either chance this period. Draws a problem there. Lowell with dumps off D-zone faceoff wins on the PK kills time and is making it hard for MC to get anything going.

Mike...watching game on ESPN+ and I am noticing the space behind the net is greater at UML vs at MC yet both rinks have the same ice surface size 200’ x 85’ if I’m right...is this correct ?

Merrimack to the PP here

Mark Hillier scored the goal on a deflection. Dennison had the initial shot from the point and he got taken out as soon as he shot it. Good job by Hillier to create traffic and get this stick on the shot.

8:00 into the 3rd period. I don't have Merrimack as winning a shift yet in the 3rd. 0-3 with a bunch of 50/50 shifts.

Merrimack to the PP.

Disaster of a start for the Warriors in the 3rd period. They lose the draw and get stuck defending for a full shift. Lowell capitalizes with a goal.

Third period is underway. The Warriors are without Zach Bookman. He's not on the bench (he left in the 2nd period) and Merrimack's trainer is also not on the bench.

Warriors kill the major. Very good PK. I only had them losing 1 shift the entire PK

Whatever the challenge was for, it was successful. Gallant is called for a major. He's getting 5 and a game.

Lowell is challenging for a major penalty at this whistle. There was a scrum after the play. I can only assume it was something they saw in that scrum. I saw a lot of players pushing and shoving so not sure specifically what they are looking at.

Merrimack strung together a bunch of good shifts in a row but Lowell had its best shift in a while right before the media timeout. Ollas with some big saves. Warriors possessed the puck most of the 4v4 and the shifts thereafter until just before the whistle.

Matching minors coming. Welsher hit Cooper behind the net. It's a HEA special (penalty + embellishment).

Young to the bench after taking a hard hit. Live speed it looked like it might have been high but on replay I think it was shoulder-on-shoulder.

Teams on the ice for the 2nd period.

Overall another (somewhat) boring period between these two teams, but that's the way Lowell plays. Merrimack defending well so there weren't many chances at either end. It says something that Merrimack's best chance came off a draw. SOG 7-7. Overall an even period, even if it was somewhat uneventful.

On replay - Wattvil's stick got tangled up with a Lowell player in the corner. Trip.

Merrimack going on the PK. Wattvil to the box. Honestly didn't see the penalty. This press box isn't great. If you're in the second tier (which I am) you can't see one of the corners or most of the near side of the ice.

Great chance by Sacco in front. Merrimack's best of the period. The 4th line has done some good work.
