Game 15 Preview: Merrimack opens league play with an NEC Championship rematch against Fairleigh Dickinson
Merrimack opens the NEC portion of its schedule on Thursday with a rematch of last season's NEC Championship game against Fairleigh Dickinson.
The Warriors beat FDU for the title last season. The Knights went on to upset Purdue in the NCAA Tournament.

The Warriors closed out non-conference play on Saturday with a 74-63 loss at Boston University.
With 3:17 left, the Warriors trailed by 29 points (72-43) but closed the game on a 20-2 run. Devon Savage converted on three three-point attempts in that run and finished with a team-high 19 points. Savage shot 5 for 9 from three.
Merrimack went 6-8 in non-conference games.
FDU also went 6-8 in non-conference games but will enter this game on a three-game losing streak, losing to Columbia, Fairfield, and Illinois.
The Knights faced Illinois last Friday and lost 104-71. Their last win was on Dec. 8 over Manhattan.
Merrimack and FDU have did not play any common non-conference opponents.
Series History
Merrimack is 6-2 all-time against FDU, including a 67-66 victory in last season’s NEC Championship game at Lawler Arena. That snapped a two-game losing streak against the Knights, who beat the Warriors 71-63 last December and 78-71 last January.
The Warriors are 5-1 against FDU at home.
