BOSTON — Merrimack and Northeastern open a huge Hockey East home-and-home series tonight at Matthews Arena with the puck set to drop at 7 p.m. The teams will conclude the series tomorrow night at Lawler Arena.

Merrimack and Northeastern enter this final weekend of the Hockey East regular season tied for second place in the league standings. On top of that, the Warriors and Huskies are ranked No. 16-17 in the Pairwise, both just outside of an NCAA Tournament spot.

The Warriors will start Zachary Borgiel in goal for a third straight game. Borgiel backstopped the Warriors to a win over Vermont two weeks ago and then a win over New Hampshire last Saturday night at the Whittemore Center. As of this writing, we don’t have Northeastern’s lines but it’s expected that the Huskies will counter with Devon Levi, who has been one of the top goaltenders in the nation.

Lineup changes from last Saturday include Regan Kimens entering the lineup for Matt Copponi and Ivan Zivlak and Adam Arvedsson entering the lineup for Mike Brown and Liam Dennison.
