FINAL: Maine hangs on and beats Merrimack 5-4. Warriors can't complete the comeback.
Ollas out again. 1:50 to play.
Ollas back in the net.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Right off the draw, Merrimack makes it 5-4. They fed Alex Jefferies for a one-timer.
So a 5-1 game in the 3rd is now a 5-4 game with 3:44 to play.
No - he's headed back to the bench. He was out there. Maybe as a way to fool Maine into thinking 5-5
Offensive zone draw coming for the Warriors. It looks like Ollas will stayin the net?
Merrimack timeout with 3:47 to play.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Merrimack makes it 5-3 on a Michael Citara backhand goal. Things getting a little interesting with 9:31 to play.
12:03 left in the 3rd. Merrimack's best 8 minutes of the weekend have come to open the 3rd period.
Sorry, it was Jefferies on the goal.
Merrimack to the PP now. Scholle off.
Ben Brar with the goal. He earned it with that good first shift.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Warriors cut the Maine lead to 5-2 with 16:12 left in the 3rd period.
Brar with a good first shift of the third. Brought some physicality that was missing this weekend.
Hugo Ollas taking over in net for the Warriors.
End of 2: Maine leads Merrimack 5-1. It's ALL Black Bears through 40 minutes. SOG 28-14 Maine.
MAINE GOAL: It's all Black Bears. 5-1 with 2:02 left in the 2nd. Again, not a lot of push from the Warriors in the D zone left to moving around the attacking zone with plenty of space to operate.
MAINE GOAL: Maine leads 4-1 now. Poisson off a feed in front. MC doing a lot of puck watching on that goal.
Something to keep an eye on. Lesakowski took two shots at Jefferies a few shifts ago, including one in front of the MC bench. Warriors have gone after him the last two shifts. Something possibly brewing there.
Young back out, so he's OK.
Tyler Young hurt after hit in front of the Maine net. Seemed to he favoring his shoulder.
Mac Welsher with the goal for the Warriors. Good effort by him behind the net.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Warriors get on eback and make it 3-1.
Jefferies just took two shots to the head from Lesakowski, who is literally following him around the ice. Merrimack might want to look at the one in front of the MC bench. He extended late and it looked like his hands were to Jefferies' face.
Felton saved a goal with a block on the goal line.
MAINE GOALE: Black Bears strike again early in the 2nd period. 3-0 Maine.
Game on in the 2nd period.
Teams about to get on the ice for the second period.
End of 1: Maine leads Merrimack 2-0. SOG 11-9 Maine.
Daneault dragged down. Not sure how there wasn't a call there. Seemed like an obvious hold.
Merrimack trying to do too much. Bad turnovers off of individual play. I get it, guys are trying to make something happen, but it's resulted in a lot of panic and running around the defensive zone.
Merrimack to the PP with 5:35 left in the 1st. Josh Nadeau off for tripping.
They’re doing a really good job screening Borgiel. Gotta get them out of his way
Merrimack has to do a better job in front of their own net. Maine just pushing them around right now.
Excellent job by Felton breaking up a 3-on-2 against Maine's top line.
MAINE GOAL: Bradly Nadeau with a snipe in the slot makes it 2-0 Black Bears with 11:42 left in the 1st period.
David Sacco is a one-man wrecking crew here on his first shift of the game. Two big hits, one in open ice and one in the corner.
Not the best start with the early GA. But Merrimack has a few nice shifts since allowing the goal. Important to take momentum here.
MAINE GOAL: Black Bears take a 1-0 lead just 37 seconds into the game. Brandon Charier with the shot through traffic.
Game on at Lawler Arena. Merrimack and Maine underway.
Anthem is completed. Merrimack and Maine will be underway in just a minute.
Welcome to tonight's live blog. Merrimack and Maine will drop the puck in about 24 minutes.
