True story: A few weeks ago I was texting with a coach from a different conference who had just played a road game in a HEA building. "How do you watch a games every weekend with the officials involved that much?" was his question.
Note - the annual alumni game will take place on Jan. 27 before Merrimack vs. Northeastern. New HOF inductees Ron Anderson and Richard Pion will be honored that night as well.
Sorry 4-3!
FINAL: UConn beats Merrimack 5-4 and the teams split the series. Andrew Lucas the GWG with just 48.1 left.
Offensive zone draw for MC with 24.1 left
Goal stands. Looked like the right call. 48.1 left
This actually gives Merrimack an extended timeout. A regular timeout is 0:30... by the challenge they'll get 1:00 or 1:30 during the review.
That should be a goal, IMO. Looked onside. But if you're Merrimack, you might as well challenge. Only 48.1 left.
Merrimack challenging for offside.
Merrimack might be challenging the play.
UCONN GOAL: Huskies take a 4-3 lead with 48.1 left. What a shot by Andrew Lucas. Tucked it under the bar.
Not much happening as far as chances for thte last 10 minutes.
9:42 left. Media timeout.
I have no idea how Borgiel kept that puck out. It defied gravity.
No goal. Borgiel kept it out.
Looked like an unbelievable save by Borgiel. UConn believes it went in. They're challenging.
UConn PP
Game on in the 3rd period.
End of 2: Merrimack and UConn tied 2-2. SOG 25-19 Merrimack.
UConn back to the PP.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Warriors tie it up 3-3.
Whichever team defends first, wins!
Best PK of the weekend for UConn.
Merrimack will head on the PP here. Rees off. I think he got a high stick for getting Daneault up high.
Things are getting chippy.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Max Wattvil scores his first career goal on the rush. 3-2 UConn.
UCONN GOAL: Ryan Mahshie all alone breaks in on Borgiel. 3-1 Huskies.
Game on in the 2nd period.
Passed it along. They're looking at it now.
Thank you very much!
I got it. Try now!
Thanks whew! Missed the whole first period 😞
Very frustrating I tried different computers and internet providers. Glad it’s not just me
Anybody know why the “Stretch” broadcast for International viewers is not working for this game?
I sent a message to Stretch support but still nothing :(
I can pass it along to the folks who would know!
UConn killed the 5v3. Some good chances for the Warriors though. Pressure was good. Had a few near misses.
Another knee on knee attempt there kinda looked like it
Seems like Maine ,UConn’s got Merrimacks number. Just sit by the faceoff dot. No one will bother you
Merrimack going to have 1:27 of 5v3 time here.
True story: A few weeks ago I was texting with a coach from a different conference who had just played a road game in a HEA building. "How do you watch a games every weekend with the officials involved that much?" was his question.
I'll just let that simmer.
Now Merrimack to the PP.
UCONN GOAL: Huskies make it 2-1 on a PP goal. I think Jake Richard poked it in.
What a job by Liam Dennison on the first part of this PK. Two enormous blocks, in a row.
UConn back to the PP with 9:45 left in the 1st. Merimack had control of the play until the first UConn PP.
UCONN GOAL: WIth just 0:01 left on the PP the Huskies tie it up. Nick Capone on the goal from the bottom of the right circle. Good shot. 1-1.
UConn to the PP for the first time this weekend.
If you're a Bruins fan, that was a JVR'ish goal. Camped out at the net, Brar took Haider's vision away and then found the rebound before he did.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Ben Brar cleaned up a rebound on the power play. 1-0 Merrimack.
Great look by Copponi to find Forsmark on that zone entry. Elite vision.
Merrimack to the PP. Ryan Tattle off for cross checking
Merrimack and UConn are underway here at Lawler Arena.
Note - the annual alumni game will take place on Jan. 27 before Merrimack vs. Northeastern. New HOF inductees Ron Anderson and Richard Pion will be honored that night as well.
Teams are on the ice for introductions.
Michael Citara is in the lineup for the Warriors after taking a knee-on-knee hit last night.
Lets gooooo!
