Leftover Quotes
Scott Borek on Mick Messner’s goal in the first period: “We need more grease. We haven't scored a lot recently and I really believe it’s because we haven't been in the greasy area.
Jefferies’ goal was just a rip of a shot, and we have guys that can do that. But we need more greasy ones and Messner’s goal got us going. Thatwas really big especially after not scoring last Saturday. It was important to score early, and the way that goal was scored was important, too.
Borek on the power play: “I thought we were much simpler. We have skilled players they really want to show that skill off. Sometimes that’s not affective and it slows the game down. Tonight, I thought we just worked hard to get pucks through and get pucks to the net and then the bodies at the net found the puck; look at Benny’s goal.”
Borek on the PK: “I thought that the PK was excellent. The goal they got was just a broken play that we just didn't get a stick on, and they won a stick fight. But I thought in third period we really did a good job. It’s important because they get a lot of power plays. I saw it against BC and I saw it again tonight. They can fall a lot. We need to be more disciplined to not put our sticks anywhere near them, because when they see a stick they typically go down and we just can’t do that.”
