Harrison Roy committed to Merrimack out of the transfer portal on Friday.

Roy, a Massachusetts native, was Lake Superior State’s captain this past season. He began his career at Boston College.

Last season, he scored 24 points (8 goals, 16 assists) and led the Lakers with 112 shots on goal. Roy also took the second-most faceoffs on the Lakers (247-282).

Roy is from Lakeville, Mass. He played prep school at Loomis Chaffee and was a freshman at Boston College in 2020-21. In three seasons at Lake Superior State, he scored 59 points (27 goals, 32 assists) in 98 games.

As a younger player, Roy took part in USA Hockey’s select camps in all three eligible seasons, and he played in the 2018 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. His father, Henry, was a kicker for the Florida State football team.
