Hillier gets up to speed
NORTH ANDOVER — Merrimack men’s hockey coach Scott Borek knows that Saturday night was just the beginning for freshman forward Mark Hillier.
The Newfoundland native scored his first collegiate goal in Merrimack’s 4-1 win over Bentley and he also assisted on Regan Kimens’ goal in the first period for the first multi-point game of his NCAA career.
Borek believes he’ll have a lot more of those multi-point nights.
Hillier was a prize recruit for Borek and his staff when he committed to Merrimack out of St. Andrew’s College in 2018. Hillier was the top player in Canadian prep school hockey that season and he finished with 66 goals and 71 assists for 137 points in just 68 games.
