Merrimack cruises past North Carolina A&T; Derkack returns to the lineup

Five Warriors scored in double figures in Merrimack's 96-73 win over North Carolina A&T to kick off the Samford MTE in Alabama on Wednesday.
Jordan Derkack returned to the lineup after he missed last week's game against Ohio State due to an apparent ankle injury he suffered in a game at Maine on Nov. 13. Derkack played 27 minutes and finished with 14 points and six rebounds.
Budd Clark led the Warriors with 19 points. Samba Diallo had 18 points. Bryan Etumnu had nine points and nine rebounds.
Devon Savage had 13 points for the Warriors, and Jaylen Stinson had 14 points in 20 minutes off the bench.
The Warriors had a 13-point lead at halftime and finished the game on a 6-0 run. The Warriors out-rebounded the Aggies 42-26. The Warriors never trailed and led for the entire game after Diallo hit a jumper 20 seconds into the first half.
NOTES: Derkack was 6 for 9 from the field. ... Savage led the Warriors with seven three-point attempts (2 for 7). ... Clark was 6 for 12 from the field and 7 for 8 from the free-throw line. ... Clark led the team with four steals. Etumnu had five blocks.
