Merrimack football makes three hires, including new co-offensive coordinator
Merrimack football coach Mike Genetti made three hires for his staff last week.
Veteran coach Eddy Morrissey was named the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Morrissey was Rhode Island's offensive line coach last season, and he previously coached offensive lines at Marshall, Austin Peay (also the run game coordinator), Mississippi State, Bryant, Princeton (also assistant head coach), and Fordham (OL and tight ends). Morrissey was a grad assistant at Oregon.
As co-offensive coordinator, Morrissey's duties will presumably revolve more around the run game. Aynsley Rosenbaum was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Last season, Rosenbaum was the QB coach and passing game coordinator.
The Warriors hired Joe Kreinsen as the new wide receivers coach. He previously was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Thomas More University. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator at Lake Erie College. He was an offensive grad assistant at Pitt in 2019 and was a grad assistant at UMass.
Merrimack also hired Nik Kessel as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. Kessel was in the same position at Assumption College last season, where he was a linebacker and graduated in 2016.
