Merrimack headed to Belfast in 2024

Merrimack will play in the 2024 Friendship Four, the annual tournament held in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Game pairings have not been announced, but the Warriors will play in the tournament with BU, Notre Dame, and Harvard. The winner of the tournament receives the Belpot Trophy.

The tournament began in 2015. The Merrimack men’s program has never participated in the tournament, but the women’s program traveled to Belfast and played Quinnipiac in two non-conference games in 2020.

The tournament is typically held on Thanksgiving weekend.

The games are played at SSE Arena. The arena is home to the Belfast Giants professional team and seats about 11,000.
