Merrimack men's basketball has clinched a MAAC Tournament spot
Thanks to this weekend’s sweep over Niagara and Canisius, the Merrimack men’s basketball team has officially secured a spot in the MAAC Tournament with seven games left.
The Warriors are in first place with an 11-2 record, one game ahead of Quinnipiac and 1.5 games ahead of Marist, whom they will face on Sunday.
The top six teams in the tournament receive first-round byes. The Warriors are four games up on Mount St. Mary’s and Manhattan for a first-round bye.

CBS’ latest Bracketology has the Warriors as a No. 16 seed, facing Omaha in the First Four, with the winner advancing to face Tennessee in Raleigh.
USA Today has the Warriors as the No. 16 seed in Lexington, Ken. taking on Alabama in the first round.
ESPN agrees with CBS and has the Warriors facing Omaha in the First Four.
Lastly, On3 has the Warriors as the No. 16 seed in the East region, taking on Duke in the first round in Raleigh.
