Merrimack men's basketball preseason favorite in NEC
The Merrimack men’s basketball team was picked No. 1 in the NEC’s preseason poll.
The Warriors received six of the possible nine first-place votes. Sacred Heart was second in the poll with a pair of first-place votes and Saint Francis was ranked No. 3. Wagner, which finished fourth, received the other first-place vote.
In addition, Jordan Minor was named to the Preseason All-NEC Team. Last season he averaged 15.1 points per game and was first in the conference in double-doubles (13), second in rebounding (8.2) and second in blocks (2.43).
Minor enters the season as one of the favorites to be named NEC Player of the Year.
The Warriors open their season on Nov. 7 at St. John’s.
