Merrimack names Fr. Bryan Kerns Interim VP for Athletics
After news this morning that Jeremy Gibson was leaving Merrimack to take the role of Dean of Athletics at Lehigh University, Merrimack announced that Fr. Bryan Kerns, O.S.A., will serve as the Interim Vice President for Athletics.
In addition, Merrimack said in a release that a national search for a new Director of Athletics will begin immediately.
“Jeremy’s impact not only elevated Merrimack athletic programs to new heights but also solidified the pivotal role athletics plays in the overall growth of the College,” said Merrimack College President Christopher E. Hopey, Ph.D. “More people today know the Warrior brand than ever before because of Jeremy’s commitment to enhancing every aspect of Merrimack Athletics.”
Fr. Kerns is currently vice president and chief of staff to the President, and he’s also the secretary of the Board of Trustees.
