Merrimack never trails against Bucknell
Jordan Derkack had 21 points in Merrimack’s 68-52 win against Bucknell on Friday.
Derkack added six rebounds, seven assists, and five steals for the Warriors (6-7). Devon Savage scored 16 points and added five rebounds. Jaylen Stinson shot 4 for 9 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points.
The Warriors dumfounded Bucknell in the first half defensively. Merrimack forced 20 turnovers and scored 28 points off turnovers in the game. The Warriors forced shot clock violations, and Bucknell turned the ball over by throwing it out of bounds.
Merrimack lost Budd Clark to an apparent ankle injury in the first half. He was limited to just seven minutes before he left the game and did not return.
Noah Williamson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Bison (3-9, Patriot League). Bucknell also got 12 points and six rebounds from Jack Forrest. In addition, Elvin Edmonds IV had seven points and two steals.
Merrimack never trailed, and led by as many as 26 points.
NOTES: With Clark out of the game, Jaylen Stinson played 36 minutes and had 13 points. ... Jordan McKoy made his first start of the season.
