Merrimack recruit Easton Daneault signs in the WHL
Merrimack recruit Easton Daneault signed with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL. Daneault, an ‘08-born forward, appeared in 25 games for the Drumheller Dragons (AJHL) this season and had 22 points (9g-13a) as a rookie.
Daneault is the younger brother of Merrimack sophomore Ty Daneault.
In a press release, the Hurricanes specified that Daneault was committed to Merrimack for the 2026-27 season, which would be Ty Daneault’s senior season.
Easton Daneault left the AJHL ranked No. 1 in all offensive categories for a 16-year-old.
Daneault becomes the second ‘08-born Merrimack recruit to sign in the WHL this week, following Gavin Clark signing with the Saskatoon Blades. The Warriors also received a commitment from ‘04-born forward Tyler MacKenzie from the Everett Silvertips last week.
The NCAA voted on Nov. 7 to change its eligibility rules regarding CHL players.
