Merrimack will play at St. Lawrence, Clarkson this weekend

The Merrimack men’s ice hockey program will open the season this weekend with a trip to St. Lawrence (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Clarkson (Saturday, 7 p.m.). Earlier this week it was unknown if the team would make the trip following the sudden passing of assistant coach Josh Ciocco on Monday.

Ciocco’s obituary was posted online Wednesday evening. Services will be held next week in New Jersey, where he is from and where his family still lives. Ciocco’s brother said in a social media post that the family would hold a memorial service in the New England area at a future date.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00pm. It is strongly recommended that in lieu of flowers, please send donations in Josh Ciocco’s honor to Merrimack College, 315 Turnpike Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
