Merrimack will play FCS powerhouse Delaware in 2026 as Blue Hens move to FBS

Merrimack football will travel to Delaware in 2026. The Blue Hens have been one of the best FCS football programs for decades, making the playoffs in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023.

Currently 7-1 this season, the Blue Hens are unranked due to transition rules (they’re also ineligible for the FCS playoffs). Next season (2025), Delaware will play its first season as an FBS school in Conference USA and become a full FBS member in 2026 when the Warriors travel to Delaware Stadium.

The Warriors will also travel to Maine in 2026. Future opponents for 2025 include road games at Colgate and Sacred Heart. The Warriors will host Fordham next season on Nov. 22.
